Central London’s contemporary Japanese fine dining restaurant is looking to recruit an enthusiastic manager to lead the team.

Your role will incorporate:

  • Leading, inspiring, motivating and supporting the team and setting them up for success, through developing their capabilities and helping them to reach their goals
  • Communicating with each department, ensuring the management team understand how their role contributes to the success of the restaurant.
  • Delivering and exceeding financial targets
  • Clearly defining and implementing operational procedures and ensuring they are followed throughout the venue
  • Creating a performance culture throughout the venue
  • Ensuring all team members are fully trained to deliver exceptional service and standards
  • Maximizing profitability through sales, marketing and promotional activities
  • Optimizing contribution through controlling all costs – labour, food and variables
  • Developing a high-performing team
  • Responsibility for reinforcing the concept to customers and the unique experience of Japanese food culture
  • Ensuring that the highest quality service is consistently delivered to our customers, and that this is reflected in their experience and the reviews

Your Key Attributes:

  • Understand the company’s mission, and working as an ambassador for Japanese food culture and products
  • An appetite for success and setting and demanding high standards
  • Understand Japanese culture, not only related to food but the company culture
  • Ability to constantly look for ways to improve and drive the business and teams forward
  • Effective communication skills across all levels, strong leadership skills and proven ability to motivate high performing teams
  • Have common sense to manage people/business.
  • Currently working within a similar role in hospitality
  • Good knowledge of food and beverage
  • Experience of the running and operation of comparable size and complexity
  • Commercially astute with the understanding of what drives business
  • Basic food safety and health & safety knowledge/certification
  • Good knowledge of regulations relating to hygiene, health and safety and licensing
  • Working knowledge of industry software tools and systems e.g. Open Table, Tevalis/Micros, FnB Manager etc
